how equal outcomes can be obtained from the possible totals when two dice are
thrown. Download the Excel file
titled ‘Dice Totals’ to assist students with
this task. This is a scaffolding
activity only. Students don’t get to
move on the board game. · Teacher
note: at the end of the above two
student activities, students should understand they can combine dice totals
to give each of the two players an equal chance, e.g. the totals 4, 5, 6 and
7 give them 18 chances out of 36 and the totals 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12
give them 18 chances out of 36 (other combinations are also valid). |
