· you are
going to play a board game on the computer · you will
work with a partner · one of
you will be the tortoise and the other one will be the hare · later,
you can download the board game. · you should
save the board game to your hard drive · this unit
of work may take you a few lessons to complete, so make sure you name your
board game so you can find it again next lesson! · · you don’t
move on the board game for all activities – watch for the hare ·
four hares means you will move four times for that
activity |
· this is a
Chance and Data unit of work, aimed at Level 4 students · if you
want a hard copy of this unit, click here and print to your local printer · this unit
is designed to be delivered solely on a computer · teacher
direction and explanation will be required for students for many activities · students
work in pairs · ensure
students save their board game file in a retrievable location so they can
continue working from where they left off each lesson · some
activities are ‘scaffolding’ activities and do not require students to move
on the board game · when
students are required to move on the board game, written instructions are
given and the symbol · as an
example, if four hares are shown at
the bottom of an activity, the student will be given an opportunity to move
four times on the board game for that activity · on each
activity page the blue-framed box is solely for teacher use and the red
framed box is solely for student use (written in the 1st person in
simpler language) |
