Melanie Newham is Beenleigh State School's Mathematics' Coordinator. Currently, the school uses the Jigsaw Maths program.
Mathematics is taught across five strands, including:
- Chance and Data (chance; data)
- Number (number concepts; addition and subtraction; multiplication and division)
- Space (shape/line; direction)
- Measurement (length, area, mass, volume; time)
- Patterns and Algebra (patterns and functions; equivalence and equations)
