Melanie Newham is Beenleigh State School's Mathematics' Coordinator. Currently, the school uses the Jigsaw Maths program.

Mathematics is taught across five strands, including:

• Chance and Data (chance; data)
• Number (number concepts; addition and subtraction; multiplication and division)
• Space (shape/line; direction)
• Measurement (length, area, mass, volume; time)
• Patterns and Algebra (patterns and functions; equivalence and equations)
